Del Monte UK Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Del Monte (UK) Ltd. is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2019

Baseline year emissions:

EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCOโ‚‚e)

  • Scope 1: 265 MT CO2e (base year 2019)
  • Scope 2: 1,389 MT CO2e (base year 2019)
  • Scope 3: N/A

Total emissions: 1,654 MT CO2e (base year 2019)

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2024

EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCOโ‚‚e)

  • Scope 1: 630 MT CO2e
  • Scope 2: 1,374 MT CO2e
  • Scope 3: N/A (Current Year (2025) Scope 3 data will be available by the end of May 2026).

Total emissions: 2,004 MT CO2e

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that by 2030 carbon emissions will decrease by 25% v the Baseline.

Progress against these targets can be seen in the table below:

Emissions have increased in the short term due to expansion of our manufacturing facilities and business growth. The plans to build an Anaerobic digestion plant this year will enable us to significantly reduce the emissions in future years and will generate carbon credits.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2019 baseline.

  1. All perimeter and facility lighting at the Wisbech facility has been converted to LED.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  1. We have applied for planning permission to build an Anaerobic Digestion plant on our owned land alongside the Wisbech manufacturing facility to process all fruit waste from the UK fresh cut fruit facility. Our goal is to be live during 2027 year, with the plant providing renewable green energy for the manufacturing facility.
  2. Our latest generation 2 vehicles provide Co2 emission reductions and the option to use HVO vegetable oil that we will transition towards, as well as explore the use of electric vehicles subject to range improvements.
